Nothing is more sleep inducing than boring, sanitised “safe” branding – the kind that can only be created by committees, conservative clients and a total lack of imagination and courage. Ok maybe I’m being provocative myself – truth is a lot of companies don’t know how to be provocative with their brand – here’s a clue… be authentic, stand up for something, take a side and be consistent. As long as you are relevant to your brand, audience and values then just do it… provoke. Better to offend 15% of the people who don’t matter than bore 100% of those who do...
